| CoreOptics, located in Nuremberg, Germany
and Manchester, New Hampshire USA, is the leading provider
of tunable MSA Modules and IC solutions for 10 Gbit/sec and
40 Gbit/sec Metro, Regional and Long Haul optical and data
networking market enabling open tolerant networks.
For the 10 Gbit/sec market CoreOptics just
released the second generation of its IC
solutions (DECS : Digital Equalisation Chip Solution) and
a family of respective MSA Modules based on its innovative
implementation of digital equalization, MLSE (Maximum-Likelihood
Sequence Estimation). This MLSE technology reduces the effects
of fiber and optical/electrical component impairments introduced
during transmission (e.g. Chromatic Dispersion (CD) and Polarization
Mode Dispersion (PMD)) efficiently.

This second generation of CoreOptics ICs (DECS-2) will double
the performance for PMD and CD compensation of the respective
MSA Modules. CoreOptics offers for the 10G market different
implementations of MSAs with NRZ chirped, NRZ none-chirped
and advanced coding scheme combined with MLSE technology.

System vendors and Carriers, using CoreOptics tunable DWDM
MSAs Modules based on dynamic MLSE concept in their Metro,
Regional and Long Haul networks, can reduce the first-in deployment
cost by upto 30% as they no longer need to invest into Optical
Compensators and the respective amplifiers.
Additionally the MLSE concept addresses the requirements of
modern optical switched networks (e.g. ROADM, Reconfigurable
Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) due to its adaptive compensation
capability.
For the 40 Gbit/sec market CoreOptic's offers
all the required subsystems and components to enable customer
to build the next generation 40 Gbit/sec systems (e.g. linecards
and muxponders). CoreOptics' portfolio consists of 40 Gbit/sec
short reach transponder module, 40 Gbit/sec DWDM transponder
module, 40 Gbit/sec Ultra-FEC ASIC, 40 Gbit/sec MUX ASIC (4
x 10G) and 40 Gbit/sec Clock/Data Recovery ASICs.
