Hamid Arabzadeh, Chairman of the Board, President & Chief Executive Officer

Formerly, Mr. Arabzadeh was the General Manager and Vice President of Next Generation Metro Optical Networks at Nortel Networks. In this role, he had global responsibility for Nortel’s Metro Optical Profit & Loss, Portfolio & Technology Strategy, Research & Development, Product Line Management and Product Marketing.

Mr. Arabzadeh joined Nortel Networks in 1995 and led the Product Marketing and Business Development of Optical Networks in the CALA Market. He spent the next 4 years working with the incumbent operators throughout the peak of deregulation in Mexico and Brazil to modernize the Long Haul and Metropolitan Optical Networks. He then moved to England to lead the Product Line Management team for the International Optical Networks division spanning CALA, EMEA and Asia. During his tenure, Nortel secured 90% market share in Pan European optical networks with the introduction of 10 Gb/s platform with over $1B revenue and became the number one supplier of Metro DWDM products in the global market. Mr. Arabzadeh's professional career in Telecommunication and Information Technology began as the founder and President of UNICAD Information Systems in 1988 in Canada. UNICAD specialized in CAD/CAM custom software development, system integration, training, and customer care service for Construction, Manufacturing, Telecommunication, and Apparel sector.

Mr. Arabzadeh holds an M.B.A. from the University of McGill and a Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Syrus Madavi

Syrus Madavi is currently the President of SPM Capital, a private fund with focus on high-growth market sectors within the semiconductor, digital consumer, communications, and green energy industries. Mr. Madavi's career has included terms as Chairman, President and CEO of Burr-Brown Corporation; President and Chief Operating Officer of JDS Uniphase; Senior Vice President of Texas Instruments; President of Raytheon Semiconductor; and Vice President of Honeywell Signal Processing Technologies. Under his leadership at Burr-Brown Corporation, which focused on high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC products, the company's valuation increased more than a hundredfold before Texas Instruments acquired the company for over $7 billion. At Texas Instruments, Mr. Madavi was the Senior Vice President of the high-performance signal processing business sector. This business with well over $1 billion revenue, offered power management, analog, mixed-signal, and DSP products for digital consumer, personal computing, industrial and communication markets. Mr. Madavi currently serves as a board member of Akros Silicon, CoreOptics, Aurora Networks, Exalt Communications, and Envia Systems.

Mr. Madavi received his BS in Electrical Engineering and MS in Computer Sciences from Stevens Institute of Technology, as well as an MBA in finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is based in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Niel Ransom

With 35 years of leadership in the telecommunications industry, Dr. Niel Ransom was until 2005 the worldwide Chief Technology Officer of Alcatel, Inc. in Paris and a member of its executive committee. There he managed corporate-wide activities in research, corporate and product strategy, R&D investment, M&A strategy and intellectual property. Earlier, he held various general management roles at Alcatel, including directing Alcatel's North American access and metro optical business. Previously, he directed the Advanced Technology Systems Center at BellSouth where he led an organization responsible for successfully expanding BellSouth's offerings into ADSL, PCS wireless, Internet services, video entertainment, and advanced intelligent networks. He started he career at Bell Labs where he led an applied research organization that gave birth to a number of highly-successful products in data and voice switching. He is currently serves on the board of directors of AMCC, Ellacoya Networks, Teknovus and Overture Networks. He serves on the advisory boards of three venture capital companies: Focus Venture in California, Pond Venture Partners in the U.K., and Carmel Ventures in Israel, and is on the advisory boards of a number of early stage high-technology companies primarily in the Bay Area. In 2000, Dr. Ransom was appointed a member of the Technological Advisors Council of the U.S. Federal Communication Commission. He holds five patents in telecommunications technology and is co-author of the book, Broadband Access Technologies, published by McGraw-Hill. Dr. Ransom received a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering at Old Dominion University in 1970 and 1971, respectively, a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame in 1973, and an Executive MBA from the University of Chicago in 1986.

John Borchers

John Borchers joined Crescendo Ventures in 1997 and has played a leading role in developing the firm's international presence. After spending nearly three years working in Crescendo's London office, Mr. Borchers relocated to Palo Alto where he focuses on opportunities in the software, wireless and network-connected application areas. Prior to joining Crescendo Ventures, Mr. Borchers worked in the data warehousing and predictive analytics fields where he held various operational roles including a two-year posting to Sydney, Australia, where he opened the first Asia-Pacific office for a U.S.-based data warehousing firm. Mr. Borchers received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond.

John J. DiBello

John J. DiBello joined TVM Capital in 1993, and is General Partner, COO and CFO of TVM Capital's U.S. operations. Prior to joining TVM Capital, he spent eight years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Boston, where he was Senior Manager, and specialized in the areas of high technology and venture capital with a particular focus on IPOs and M&A transactions. Mr. DiBello serves as a board member for TVM Capital portfolio company VPIsystems. He is also a member of the CFO task force for the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). He holds a BS in accountancy, an MS in Business Administration from Bentley College, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Dr. Hansjörg Sage

Dr. Hansjörg Sage is a Partner with Gimv's Technology team heading up the efforts in the German-speaking countries and focusing on hardware investments on a pan-European level. Before joining Gimv in 2008, Hansjörg Sage was a Director in 3i's global Venture Capital team, where he was active in hardware-related early- and late-stage investments in European technology start-ups, mainly in the electronics, semiconductor and cleantech sectors. He managed investments in u-blox, h t e, and Dialog Imaging Systems. Prior to this, Mr. Sage worked on technology investments in Europe and Israel at the Private Equity Division of Lehman Brothers. He started his career as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in 1997. Mr. Sage holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe and a PhD from the University of Strasbourg in control theory and robotics. He also obtained an MBA from INSEAD.

Dr. Anthony Bunker

Dr. Anthony Bunker is Partner of Triginta Capital and Managing Partner of Triginta Capital Fund I Management GmbH . He is responsible for the acquisition, structuring and management of the mid cap private equity activities. He has eighteen years of private equity experience in Germany. Prior to joining Triginta Capital, Dr. Bunker worked as managing director for a mid cap investment bank in Germany being responsible for corporate private equity investments and turnaround situations.  Dr. Anthony Bunker then joined ATCO, a joint venture between ABN Amro Private Equity and Alpinvest (NIB), followed by ten years with Bridgepoint (NatWest Private Equity) as managing director in Germany. Amongst others, he led the investments Swiss Caps, Forstinger, Management 2000, Edscha and Lloyd Werft.

Dr. Bunker studied Management Science in Cambridge and Canterbury and holds a German PhD and a MA (Mphil) degree.
