Company
Business Policy
CoreOptics is continually striving to reduce the environmental
impact of the work we do and the products we create. CoreOptics
is committed to environmental affairs leadership in all of
its business activities and to contributing to protection
of the natural environment for the benefit of future generations.
We will integrate this commitment into our business planning
and operations by establishing and maintaining management
systems that carry out the following principles:
Health & Safety
Provide a safe and healthful workplace and ensure that personnel
are properly trained and have appropriate safety and emergency
equipment. Be an environmentally responsible neighbor in the
communities where we operate, and act promptly and responsibly
to correct incidents or conditions that endanger health, safety,
or the environment. Report them to authorities promptly and
inform affected parties as appropriate.
Product Design
Develop, manufacture, and market products that are safe for
their intended use, efficient in their use of energy, protective
of the environment, and that can be reused or disposed of
safely. Use development and manufacturing processes that do
not adversely affect the environment, including developing
and improving operations and technologies to minimize waste,
prevent air, water, and other pollution, minimize health and
safety risks, and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
Compliance
Meet or exceed all applicable environmental, health and safety
requirements, and voluntary requirements to which CoreOptics
subscribes. Set and adhere to stringent requirements of our
own no matter where in the world the company does business.
Pollution Prevention and Resource Conservation
Operate CoreOptics’ facilities to minimize harmful
impacts on the environment. Place a high priority on waste
minimization, recycling and reuse programs, and pollution
prevention. Conserve natural resources by reusing and recycling
materials, purchasing recycled materials, and using recyclable
packaging and other materials. Ensure the responsible use
of energy throughout our business, including conserving energy,
improving energy efficiency, and giving preference to renewable
over non-renewable energy sources when feasible.
Open Communication
Maintain an open and honest dialoged with our employees and
stakeholders about the environmental, health and safety performance
of our operations and services. Act in an environmentally
responsible manner through sustainable practices designed
to ensure the health and safety of CoreOptics’ employees,
neighbors, and the environment. Periodically communicate company
progress to stakeholders. Engage stakeholders to improve products
and processes.
Continuous Improvement
Strive to continually improve CoreOptics’ Integrated
management system and performance, and periodically issue
progress reports to the general public. Conduct rigorous audits
and self-assessments of CoreOptics’ compliance with
this policy, measure progress of CoreOptics’ environmental
affairs performance, and report periodically to the Board
of Directors. Foster a culture of environmental responsibility
among employees and management.
Every employee and every contractor on CoreOptics’
premises is expected to follow this policy and to report any
environmental, health, or safety concern to CoreOptics’
management. Managers are expected to take prompt action.
