Rich Cowper, Chairman of Technical Advisory Board

In his role as the chairman of the company’s technical advisory board, Rich will work very closely with CoreOptics office of the CTO, engineering and marketing teams, as well as external leaders in the optoelectronics and telecommunication fields to outline the technology roadmap and CoreOptics next generation product platforms.
Mr. Rich Cowper is currently President, Lincor Telecom Inc., an Ottawa based telecommunications consulting firm. Lincor provides strategic, technology and business planning assistance to senior line executives in the telecommunications industry.
Most recently, Mr. Rich Cowper was Nortel Network’s Vice President, Product development with the Optical Networks group headquartered in Ottawa, Canada where he was in charge of the development of Nortel’s leading Optical Transport product lines. During his 25-year career with Nortel Networks, Cowper created and grew Nortel’s very successful 2.4 Gbit/sec, 10 Gbit/sec and Optical Amplifier product lines. His responsibilities included product definition and market launch of next generation products as well as technical evolution and support of the revenue generating installed base.
Mr. Rich Cowper has received a number of awards including Nortel President’s award for Customer Service and Excellence in Technology.
Cowper holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering form the University of Toronto. He has also done post-graduate work in Electrical Engineering at Ottawa University, Carleton University and Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
