40G ASIC
CoreOptics offers complete chip sets that allow designers of 40G client and line-side DWDM line cards the flexibility for high-coding gain, 4x10G muxponder capability and an alternative source for 40G SERDES with advanced features such as integrated pre-coder and internal Q-monitor. These ASICs include:
-
43 Gb/s Ultra-FEC (CO40FEC10) – a multi-rate forward error correction code device supporting both G.709 and a G.971 Ultra FEC code and provides 2dB of additional coding gain over standard G.709 FEC. It allows the flexibility to use RS or UFEC coding gain and has other important features such as extensive overhead processing of the OTN and SONET/SDH signals
-
40G Mux/DeMux for 4x10G client signals (CO40MUX10) - a device that multiplexes either an OC-192/STM-64/10 Gb/s CBR or an OTU-2 signal into an OTU-3 signal for 4x10G muxponder applications. Standard G.709 FEC is supported on all client and line interfaces. It can be connected, via the SFI-5 line interface, to the CO40FEC10 device (in order to add G.971 Ultra FEC) or directly to a 43 Gb/s line-side DWDM optical module
-
Dual-channel 10GSERDES supporting SFI-5s, SFI-4, XFI (CO40POM10) - a combined Dual Channel 10G SERDES and Ethernet to OTN mapper that can be used with the CO40MUX10 to enable a complete 43G Muxponder solution. The MCPOM supports two XFI interfaces allowing direct connection to XFP modules and supports data rates from 9.96Gbit/s (G.707) to 11.1 Gbit/s OTU-2 (over-clocked)
-
40G SERDES IC for 16:1 Mux (CO40MRS10) - a multi-rate 40G serializer with an integrated pre-coder allows for a cost-efficient implementation of advanced modulation formats (e.g. ODB and DPSK)
- 40G SERDES IC and 1:16 Demux (CO40VNS10) - a multi-rate 40G de-serializer with integrated clock and data recovery (CDR) that meets OC 768 SONET/SDH and OTN jitter input tolerance requirements with high input sensitivity. An internal Q-monitor circuit enables an automatic threshold and phase adjustment
