43 Gbit/sec Ultra-FEC Chip (CO40FEC10)
Description
The CO40FEC10 is a multi-rate forward error correction code
device supporting both G.709 and a G.971 Ultra FEC code, which
provides 2dB of additional coding gain over standard G.709
FEC. The device can be configured in both Termination mode
(40/43 Gbit/sec) and Regenerator mode (40/43 Gbit/sec).
In Termination mode a 40 Gbit/sec (39.8Gbit/sec) signal (SONET/SDH
or clear channel) is mapped into an OTU-3 using either synchronous
or asynchronous mapping with the help of integrated phase
detectors.
In Regenerator mode a 43 Gbit/sec OTU-3 signal can have the
OTU-3 SM, OTU-3 FEC and ODU-3 OH regenerated.
The CO40FEC10 provides extensive overhead processing of the
OTN and SONET/SDH signals.
The CO40FEC10 connects directly to both the CoreOptics CO40TSS11
SR and CO40TDL10 DWDM optical modules plus 40/43 Gbit/sec
ASIC´s such as the CO40MUX10 or SONET/SDH framers.
The device is available in both RoHS5 and RoHS6 packages.
