The Road to 100G
CoreOptics’ coherent technology will enable cost-effective transition for carriers upgrading backbone networks from 10G to 40G DWDM. We are also developing products that will let service providers deploy 100G on their existing fiber and deployed network equipment infrastructure.
CoreOptics is a board member of the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) – a nonprofit, member-driven organization dedicated to producing specifications for the next-generation of optical internetworking products. Working in collaboration with other OIF member companies, CoreOptics plays a key role in developing implementation agreements for the key components necessary for cost-effective 100G long-haul transport over 50GHz spaced channels. Information on the OIF can be found at www.oiforum.com.
CoreOptics is also a technology development leader recognized by European government agencies. Since 2003 we have worked with the German and European Government Technology Center of Excellence to develop technologies for the next generation of high-speed data transport, including such programs as:
- 100G High Capacity Backbone
- Efficient High Capacity Backbone (Eibone)
- High Distortion Tolerant Transmission Program
